Got Patent?
Patent Leather is truly a Classic!
And never goes out of style! I can remember having black patent leather mary janes as a little girl. (actually in white too). My mom was so proud when she saw me in my Easter dress with those patent whites!- I can remember the look on her face. However those lace socks were never my favorite. (Got a visual there?)
Since we have added our leather handbags to the collection, I have received the question-- "What exactly is patent leather?"
I'm here to tell you --it's Wonderful! It's easy to clean and doesn't absorb dirt from daily use like most leathers.
Patent leather is real leather! Leather that has been given a high gloss, shiny finish. The original process was developed by Newark-based inventor Seth Boyden in 1818 with commercial manufacture beginning September 20, 1819. We currently offer patent leather handbags in black, red, and plum. To view more of our bags, visit www.kay-la.com.
